PLATELET-RICH PLASMA THERAPY
PRP IS A REVOLUTIONARY Treatment OPTION
Relief from ailments such as arthritis, tendinitis and tissue injuries without surgery!
WHAT IS PRP?
PRP is a groundbreaking, non-operative procedure in which the patient’s own blood is extracted, spun down to produce a high concentration of platelets, then returned to the treatment site. The procedure is gaining in popularity as an alternative to surgery after having been utilized by professional athletes all over the world.
IS PRP TREATMENT EFFECTIVE?
Patients who have received PRP Treatment report reduced pain and faster healing. Significant relief has been experienced by those suffering from a wide range of conditions such as arthritis, tendinitis, and ligament injuries. Although it is not entirely clear how PRP works, multiple studies have shown that the significantly increased platelet numbers injected during the PRP Treatment can help to minimize discomfort and speed up the healing process.
WHAT IS THE PROCESS?
During your appointment, the procedure begins with taking a small sample of your own blood. This small sample (similar in size to what is used for lab testing) is then spun in a centrifuge at very high speeds. This spinning separates the blood components, allowing the technician to concentrate the platelets. When ready, the PRP is then returned to the patient with a precise injection to the treatment area. Recovery time is minimal with most patients returning to their normal schedules with only a short rest after the procedure.
